• The City of Deer River is seeking two part-time Police Officers that can fill, and work shifts as needed. These positions will require working day-shifts and night-shifts when called upon. These Officers will be non-supervised, once internally field trained. These positions include the patrolling of the City of Deer River city limits, investigating crimes, enforcing federal, state, and local laws/ordinances. These Officers will provide public safety to the community along with assisting other agencies. These Officers will be responsible for minimal administrative duties, with most of the time spent patrolling and actively pursuing community engagement. These Officers will be on a 6-month probation/FTO period and with successful completion, elevated to full pay.

• Required: Associate of Arts degree in law enforcement, valid Minnesota P.O.S.T. license, and a valid Minnesota driver's license. Must meet all state-mandated certifications and medical requirements.

• Desired: Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certified.

• No living requirements or on-call status.

Job Description: The City of Deer River Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for a Full-Time Police Officer position.

 

This position requires working some 12-hour day shifts, but primarily night shifts. After successful completion of internal field training, the officer will function in a non-supervised capacity.

​

Duties include patrolling within the City of Deer River limits, enforcing federal, state, and local laws and ordinances, investigating crimes, providing public safety services, assisting other agencies, and engaging with the community. Administrative duties are minimal, with the majority of time spent on patrol and community-oriented policing.

This position includes a 6-month probationary/FTO period, with elevation to full pay upon successful completion.

Minimum Qualifications
