City of Deer River Municipal Ordinances
Subdivision 2. Enforcement.
In case any building or structure is erected, constructed, reconstructed, altered, repaired, converted, or maintained, or any building, structure, or land is used in violation of this Ordinance, the Zoning Administrator, in addition to other remedies, may institute any proper action or proceedings in the name of the City of Deer River. He shall hereby have the powers of a police officer to prevent such unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, conversion, maintenance, or use, to restrain, correct, or abate such violations to prevent the occupancy of said building, structure or land, or to prevent any illegal act, conduct, business, or use in or about said premises.
Should any section or provisions of this Ordinance be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole or any part thereof other than the part so declared to be invalid.
5.219 DATE OF EFFECT
Subdivision 1. Date of Effect.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its adoption and publication.

5.220 Public hearings. No zoning ordinance or amendment thereto shall be adopted by the Council until a public hearing has been held thereon by the Council upon notice as provided in Minnesota Statutes §462.357, Subd. 3.
5.221 Area rezoned. That area of Deer River bordering Highway #2 between Second Street SE and Fourth Street SE shall be rezoned from a C-l to a C-2 designation.
